The symbol of the greatest performance in Romanian club football has returned home! Helmut Duckadam’s gloves with which he defended 4 penalties in the European Champions Cup final won by Steaua Bucharest against Barcelona in 1986 are back in Romania! The Football Museum Bucharest manages to give all Romanians and football lovers everywhere a unique moment and offer the chance to discover the gloves that wrote history, within the Museum.
“We are honored and happy because we were able to offer this extraordinary chance to several generations of Romanians. Starting April 28, Helmut Duckadam’s legendary gloves are being brought back to the country by the Football Museum for several months. We hope that our project will inspire and bring the models of football closer to the fans through exceptional symbols like this. After more than two decades, Duckadam’s gloves, owned by a Romanian settled in Canada, are reentering the lives of Romanians!” said Romeo Bănică, Executive Director of the Football Museum.
“I will definitely be excited to see the gloves again after more than 20 years. I’m glad that the fans will have the opportunity to see them here, in the most suitable place for celebrating football performances – the Football Museum.” said Helmut Duckadam
